1 Year Old

I turned 1 year old on Friday and did not remember..

Christmas 2011, The Chap bought me a new laptop with the capability to start blogging and uploading photos etc.

He listened to an idea I had and helped me.

So much has changed since my first post 12 months ago on the 4th January. I am still in debt, not £1920, but £400.

I have met some wonderful new blogging friends and connected with people all over the world and it has been wonderful!

Thank you to everyone who visits, in 365 days I have had over 40,000 hits across 204 posts with new people coming across little old me everyday.

I never expected to connect with so many new folk.

Thank you everyone for visiting. I was hoping today to get an idea of where people were visiting from.

So today, could everyone write a comment, stating where you are based. Nothing specific – Country, County / State, Town perhaps. I will start.

I have been so busy over the last few weeks with packing and moving, I feel I need to reassess.

My new tenant moves in on Monday, so this weekend I will be doing the final clear out and clean before it becomes someone elses home.

Next week I will be writing my mission statement for 2013 and posting pictures of “Southfork”, my new home.

And finally, Hello and Welcome to my new followers - Cheap Chick, Sammy Kaye, and Jackie. Thank you so much for visiting. x

Frugally yours
Abigail

    1. Wow, Comox sounds amazing according to Wikipedia. And very similar to the size of town I live in. (though I am not on the coast)
      Have you always lived there?
I have to say I was most excited to read your comment yesterday as your location seems the most exotic.
Is there a website I could visit to read about Comox?
What is it known for? Do you fish? Have you always lived there?

    2. After living on the cold Canadian prairies of Alberta we just moved to Vancouver Island last Spring. We are still in the process of selling our home in Alberta. I would like to fish but we don't own a boat so we buy fresh fish from the fisherman at the dock about a five minute drive from our home. I love living by the Pacific Ocean - planned for the last ten years to move here. Comox is named after one of our west Coast Indian Bands. We have a climate similars to yours with little snow and lots of rain in winter. Cheers! ps dinner sounds good!

I was in Cardiff a lot after a relative's death, tying up her affairs.
Isn't it lovely there now? The restaurant bit by the sea was lovely and I had a sneeky glass of champers there with my friend.
I have always fancied a weekend there to wander around.

I have never been to New York, and would love to visit.
I have been trying to find some information on Kirkville and so far can only find properties for sale or the weather forecast.
Can you recommend a website to find out more about Kirkville?
      Thanks

    2. Well, there isn't much in Kirkville besides homes and farmer's fields. It is a country outskirt of Syracuse. We do much of our out and about in Syracuse and the surrounding areas. I have put the wikipedia website for syracuse and area http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syracuse,_New_York

I have just looked up Gardiner, Maine. Did you know you live in a
" thriving, forward thinking community complemented by the essence of country living"
it sounds beautiful. Is it quite a small town then? If so it is similar to where I live.
The only thing I know about Maine is it is where Jessica Fletcher lives isn't it?

    1. I just looked up Louisiana. I did not know much. You celebrated 200 years of being a state last year according the webiste I read.
I think of all the overseas readers, Louisana and surrounding area is the place I would most like to visit. It seem so beautiful with such a rich culture.
Is louisiana an expensive place to live?
      Abigail x

      Delete
    2. It does have a rich culture but more and more that culture is being taken over by modern life. I love the food here. And people are friendly (for the most part...there are rude people everywhere). Clannish but friendly. We're very fond of food (very fond...like that is how we show love and hospitality). It's not perfect here by any stretch but I am fond of it, warts and all. (Though I would love to travel more and live in other parts of the world for a time.)

Overall, Louisiana is not expensive. The cities are not cheap, though. I can't vouch for Baton Rouge or New Orleans but Lafayette tends to be more expensive. I live in a small town about 45 miles from Lafayette. It is a fairly cheap cost of living here.

I have vision of little house on the prairie when you say homestead. In the Uk I suspect we would call it a smallholding. i.e. a little bit of land to plant and some animals. Is that correct?
It sounds idyllic, and googling Fayetteville it looks like a small town. Is that correct?
